Yay blackpool! And Dr. Horrible (though i tend to associate Sondheim more with "Everything You Ever" though that's probably just because he says "I'm fine" JUST LIKE Sweeney). And FOTC (hey, i just watched that episode yesterday!). Simon&Garfunkel/Graduate too, although I didn't remember the use of that song (not surprising--I haven't seen that movie in about 10 years). Also your top 5 btvs episodes are, of course, excellent.

"everything you ever" is very sondheim...but the mix of dark comedy and dark darkness is very sondheim, and the song also seems similar in the complex phrasing and clever rhyming structure. there are other things, too... you can blame this oh-so-detailed explanation on my sondheim class 100%.

you should rewatch it! i loooove the graduate. so much.

...and, okay, i have to ask- did you like that last crack!pairing? i may have had our discussions in mind when writing it. : P

Don't think it needs to be said that your number one song on the first list is the shit... but I'll do it anyway, because, um... I like pointing out obvious things? D:

Really though. It's amazing.

PS, did we finish Blackpool? My memory is fuzzy about it!

Blackpool is major love. 'These Boots Were Made For Walking' is the song that made me fall in love with the show too - though I'd have a hard time picking a favourite between it, 'The Gambler', 'The Boy With Thorn In His Side' and 'White Wedding'. Brilliant, brilliant show. Love the rest of your musical moments too - Dr Horrible, FotC and Singing In The Rain. 'Good Morning' has always been my favourite number from the movie as well. Love the singing and the dancing - I'm a sucker for good choreography - and the fact that it has all three being so cheery and awesome. :D

I'm not sure what my Top 5 Buffy episodes would be, though 'Doppelgangland', 'Restless' and 'OMWF' would probably all be there.I'd have to add 'Hush' in there somewhere as well I think. 'OMWF' does deserve to be celebrated and I agree with you that it's the episode even non-fans remember. I was in highschool when the episode first aired and it was the only time that Buffy was the hot topic at school the next day. Even the kids that had never seen the show before ( ... )

And for crack!ships Book/God is a definite OTP.
YES! i am so glad someone else likes this/doesn't think i'm completely insane.
...i may have to write some of this someday, if you wish, though i have no idea how i'd go about doing such a thing. : )

and thanks for reading my crazy lists, btw!

also, more people love "the gambler" than i expected. i mean i like it, don't get me wrong, but i don't think it's my favorite of all the songs. can i ask why you love it so? is it the singing into the ice cream. i DO love the singing into the ice cream. : )

Your crazy lists are amazing. They make me want to watch all these shows/movies again - though I've yet to see Dollhouse so I've been avoiding those lists. :)

While I admit that there are many stronger numbers in Blackpool I think my love for 'The Gambler' springs from the fact that it's an introduction of sorts - more-so even than 'Viva Las Vegas'. I like how it shows all the main characters and gives you a good feeling of where they are emotionally as well. I also like the visual touches, like starting with the close up the eye as Ripley wakes, and the close up of the towel being folded to the 'know when to fold the' line, and how Carlisle and Blythe just appear as the truck passes by.

All those moments just make me smile - and the ice-cream. The singing into the ice-cream is definitely a big plus. :D

and it was totally totally lovely
yay, and yes. also yes to what you said about the choreography. even as i got older and found don more than a little bit chauvinistic, i couldn't ever really hate gene kelly. because of the dancing. and, you know, because i love gene kelly. : )

Whiskey's death was beautiful and haunting
okay, now i have to ask. did whiskey actually die? for some reason i just thought she went back into sleeping/unconscious mode. oh man, if she died that makes the episode about 50x sadder. meh.

He is just amazing as he grapples with whatever's going on inside his head.
definitely!

LOL, I really had to limit myself with these comments. haha XD
i love your comments!

For me, Cosmo made that film for me. XD
Donald O'Connor was just fantabulous ^_^ I love him, and 'Moses Supposes' and 'Make em laugh' are some of my favourite numbers. Ever.

Oh see... Hmm... I thought she did. But now I'm not sure. =/ Ugh. lmao. Maybe I'll do some research. >_<

That's one of my favourite moments of the entire season!!!

I like the other captain Jack, He was really really hot and that kissing scene broke my heart.

I've seen that Blackpool moment! It's the only bit of Blackpool I've seen, but it's that one I've seen!!

Love Dr Horrible, me and my 5yo sing "My Eyes" together. LOL
Love Willow's little wave to Oz and OMWF and I agree re the subtext and I love the Cheese man because it's so random!!

I need to get watching Dollhouse. Saw the original pilot the other day and thought, hang on that's not the pilot I saw in February (or whenever it was the show first aired).
