I'm re-watching the first televised leaders' debate, the one that turned Nick Clegg from a nobody into a household name overnight. And it's so good - Brown and Cameron had both come prepared to argue with each other, but it's so gloriously obvious that neither of them had really considered that Clegg would be any more than window dressing. And they ( Read more... )

Oh, Evils. I wrote a whole two paragraphs today. My hair will be grey before it's done, at this rate D:

Saw your reply too, to which I will reply when I next have a brain. And I fully understand that droolworthy specimens on widescreen are not to be missed, no worries! :D

And I can't believe how quickly the time has gone... It'll probably be a week or two of not being online as much as we're both used to, what with the season, so I guess I'll see you when I see you. I hope you have a good time with the parents :)

(There are occasional sequences where neither one is present, y'know)

I am still around this week, actually. Going to be there 24th through the 7th, back 8th, but will have blackberry plus periodic slow dialup. So I may still stalk you both thiis week and later ;)

I am finding thast the script is VASTLY improved by the judicious addition of "I wanna fuck you".

I'll be away from 23rd-29th, or thereabouts. I'm twitching at the mere thought. *wants a blackberry*

And I've never had a stalker before - it's oddly flattering :) You have been both infinitely patient and very helpful, and in the spirit of Christmas - is there anything in particular you'd like to see happen in Evils? I don't promise anything, but if it's possible I'll try to write it in.

And re the film - what? Do they actually say that? They don't actually say that. You're screwing with me. You're trying to make me watch more tFatF films! Oh god, do they say that??

seen this? The film, I mean?
It is as un-PC and at times as gross as it gets (but that's the whole point; besides, it is still several notches classier than South Park) and I absolutely adore it. When it came out I went to the movies in DC three or four times taking various friends to see it... including my ex-US-marine then-Lover while playing hookie from work. Oh, the old times.

sorry, stupid me asked you something to which I've since then found an easy answer. Question is below in strikethrough to save you from any wondering but by now resolved.

sorry, another completely unrelated question ( ... )

Holy mothercakes - sorry, I've been out all day and only just got back. You figured out your subtitles, then? And thank you for the cartoons, they amused me. Did someone decide today was going to be cartoon day? Meme has been boggling over them too. On balance, Nick in a dress and frilly apron is better than some alternatives such as those drawn by Steve Bell. I'm mildly irritated at the way he's always being portrayed as the 'wife'. Actually, that's one significant difference between the meme and more mainstream interpretations of Nick - he's not disparaged in the same way here, and if anyone is seen as subservient, it's usually DCam, in line with the meme's view of him as subby. The media makes Nick all wooby. Which means that's what people on the street think. Sigh. Such is the fate of a party who don't have newspapers to back them?

Re TA, 'several notches classier than South Park' is one of those statements that sounds reassuring until you actually think about it ;) but upon wiki-ing, Team America seems to be Thunderbirds with ( ... )

I like Christmas as the focus of the festive spirit, but little else. Am hardly religious so view the symbolism with little beyond benign curiosity, could not care less about the commercial frenzy aspect (me and mine sort of quietly dropped the whole gift thing a few years back, even when I had money), and do not care for carols. The part I detest with uncontrollable fury is the non-carol Christmas music with the strange and silly exception(s) of White Christmas and, at a stretch, Let it Snow. My particular red rag is Jingle fucking Balls; the first three bars of that make me acutely homicidal. My favourite specific parts of Christmas are the tree and the lights. I used to insist on having a real tree until last year ( ... )

Just finished watching the DPMQs - you were right, some excellent stuff there, from Delicious-tied Huhne snoozing and gurning on the front bench to Nick defending the Coalition and laughing at the way the press exaggerates things and promising to "behave himself" to his rebuke to Bone over the latter's "morbid fascination" with Cam's death that totally echoes Necessary Evils in my mind (what do you mean, six chapters?!) All in all, a good show.

One more thing I found today that made me snicker, for whenever you are back online:

I was a little surprised to see Huhne sitting beside Nick - is that always his spot in DPMQs? But Nick was just excellent - there were lots of questions where he didn't even need notes, he was confident, assertive, visibly in good humour. And Labour weren't even trying - Harman didn't even turn up!

But - Bone, what the hell? I can't decide if it was a bad attempt at humour, a la Pleasuring Mrs Bone (but worse) or some kind of...weird 'yes, your backbenchers still hate you' threat. Are you allowed to be sarcastic in parliament? Because if any question deserved a facetious answer, that one did.

And oh, Virgin. This is why you test your planned upgrades before rolling them out nationwide XD

Yeah, I didn't know you could do that, just not turn up. Not that I'm complaining, I find her v grating. And no, it's not me you're talking to re Bond!Cam (though I agree wholeheartedly with them, whoever they are!)

(As I was looking at the Cam pics, I couldn't help thinking that he almost certainly had a bulletproof vest on, and that the clothes were chosen to hide it. I wonder if he has a body-double, too?)

And what is this, you're planning fic for tFatF? Oh, that would be great - you're good at action and the genre is just perfect for it. There are different actors in all the different tFatF films, aren't there? How do the fans handle that? Are the films treated as individual canons or a continuous universe?
