How is it that I never had Naked Lunch shoved at me until yesterday? I thought I knew all the contemporary junkie novels. I also realized, in one of the most "oh, duh" realizations that I've had in some time, that I'm obsessed with junkie novels because they are the best at mirroring chronic illness of all modern literature ( Read more... )

i love burroughs.... but am not a fan of naked lunch, really.
but when i read it i was in 10th grade and alot has changed for me since then, maybe i should give it another try.

I'm only like 20 pages in, but I like it so far. I've never read any other burroughs, and am relieved to have found a "beat" writer that I like, since I hate - yea I'm gonna say it - I hate jack kerouac.
