That would be absolutely brilliant! If it was, say, a Steampunk, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (highly stylized) action film that also was very well written it would = genius

Yeah, everyone I know is getting terribly excited over it, but when I watched the trailer all I could think was, "This wasn't the book I read". It might still be quite good in its own way, but...
I have reservations about Ben Barnes, too.
An action film of Maurice would be fantastic. Only with the original cast, though.
I don't know much about Ben Barnes. He's pretty. He looks like he could be a Power Bottom (you KNOW Patrick Wolf is a total Power Bottom), so in my mind he'll work. I did picture Dorian looking, well, exactly like Lord Alfred Douglas, but a pretty dark-haired boy works just as well. I hope there will be lots of amiguously gay playtimes with Ben Barnes and Colin Firth...this is my only hope.
I do not, however, understand why it looks like the background for this film looks exactly the same as in Sweeney Todd.
