Minimal, if any, spoilers, but under the cut to be safe...
I've been told that USA's shows are tailor-made for me --no pun intended considering my current topic ;)-- and, well, that's proving to be the case again. Two episodes into Suits, and I haven't found anything yet to dislike. I've only seen Gabriel Macht in a couple of things before (does anyone else remember the short-running psychic support group show The Others?) and so it was a little difficult for me to imagine him as a lawyer at first, but his character Harvey fits him.
The dynamic between Mike and Harvey has great potential too. It's definitely got a bit of a White Collar Neal & Peter feel at the moment (trust issues due to Mike's previous drug usage) but I'm hopeful that the show will move past that more quickly than was possible in White Collar and focus on the father-son vibe they seem to be going for. Mike's past is an interesting source of conflict that I'm sure will be explored, I just don't want to see it develop into something that's a constant thorn between he and Harvey.
Then there's Louis, Harvey's nemesis, played by Rick Hoffman. He played a lawyer in the movie Cellular, too, if I'm not mistaken and he just makes for a great antagonist. I'm not sure yet how evil he's going to be, but I don't think they could've cast anyone better for the part.
To sum up: great chemistry between the characters, Mike with enough issues to leave my whump-loving side hopeful for the future, interesting cases, great humor, and Gina Torres leading the firm = awesome! =D
