Tonight, my aunt was taken off life support, and died in peace. When I say my aunt, i don't think people understand what that means, i guess people aren't very close to their aunts and uncles, and its not that i'm trying to pretend that my aunts were like my mothers and I can't imagine living without them, but people react more to my dog being put ( Read more... )

oh, katie. i cried through reading this entire thing.
i'm so sorry, and i know that doesn't make it any better.
thankfully she passed away peacefully.

Katie! I couldn't tell you how much I've had those feelings. My aunt... well really my Mom's Aunt, but my great, was like the best person to tell your feelings to. She always had the advice and everything and helped my family resolve things and be at peace with themselves. She was battling breast cancer for so long and she finally decided that she had done what she needed in life and decided to go in peace. It was really hard to like, deal with the fact that someone you love is ready to leave the world as you know it. but she loved flowers and things , she had a huge heart. it really shows you that if you're passionate and you know, live life to the fullest you dont' feel like life was wasted you know

what i regret the most is that i wasn't closer to her, and she lived right next door. sometimes i kick myself

yeah, i know the feeling, we all regret that at times, but theres no going back and the time you had with them is all you need.
