we are working out my severance package and exit date.

i'm not sure. I've never been in this position so i'm not really sure how i feel. of course, i want to tell them to f-off and send them boxes of files C.O.D....but i have to be practical and not emotional about it and i'm not sure i'm really ready for that yet.

i'm trying to keep a clear head and realize that something even better may be in store. we'll see...

This sucks, and does it make it any easier that you had an inkling? Probably not. But this could be a good thing right?

it did help that i knew it was coming eventually. I'm really trying to look at it as a good thing.

i've been thinking alot about what kind of life i want for my family and i'm hoping that this will give me the time to make some relaxed and non-panicked decisions.

Whoa, you were right about the new boss.. well you get severance and unemployment....When is the effective date?

i think i'm staying through September 30. They first said July 31 but then asked if i could stay longer to train the new guy... at first, i thought that was ridiculous but an extra few months pay can't hurt so i'll probably do it.
