Aha! I thought so, but I also have upstairs neighbors who like to do some pogo-stick bowling wearing wooden dutch shoes, so sometimes it's hard to tell the difference. However, I actually felt the couch shaking beneath my butt, so I suspected it might be ground this time. :)
