District 9 is the best science fiction film of the year... with the exception of "Moon", which I haven't seen yet, and "Star Trek" which was as much an action film as anything. D9 may even be the best science fiction film in the last few years, since I can't really think of anything else quite on its caliber - with the possible exception of "

I completely agree with your review of District 9. Since I saw it a couple weeks ago, I have been encouraging others to give it a shot who might otherwise have passed it by.
