Sometimes I get a kick in the ass, in a good way.
Ok, so we're having a slow night in Trauma. Michelle and I went over to Walgreens for snacks. While there Brette (one of the staff nurses) called me and asked me to grab a "Coke and some kind of snack or crackers" for a family member of a patient over in Neuro. I am always amazed by the grace people can show in difficult situations. I have a thank-you note from a teacher at Laurel's school; her husband died after a long illness the day before a teacher luncheon I had coordinated and after talking with the office staff, we arranged for the food from the luncheon to be redirected to the memorial service.
