Trump as President

Jan 02, 2017 00:00

Ok, the election is over and all the votes are in. Good or bad Trump is the next president. There is no complaining or rioting or marching or posting on Twitter that will change that fact. By all the laws in our great land it is done ( Read more... )

I'll try to answer this in as level-headed a way as I possibly can. Forgive me if I stray.

What if Trump brings back manufacturing which would put pressure to improve our education system and bring supporting manufacturing?

Manufacturing, as a whole, is actually up and more productive than ever. What's down is employment in manufacturing, which is due to a variety of reasons, but the boogeyman on the horizon is automation. There simply isn't any incentive for manufacturing companies to hire human beings when technology will ultimately mean they can produce things quicker and cheaper and not have to deal with labor, collectively bargain, etc. Trump is POTUS but he isn't a dictator (yet). The only thing he can do is incentivize companies/corporations into hiring a certain way, and that would probably entail corporate welfare, which would mean we're "creating" jobs for the sake of paying taxes, which just goes back to these companies anyway. This is part of a rather large economic problem I'm not even close to equipped to handle, but ( ... )

I don't like the false dichotomy of "you criticized Hillary so you must be a Trump voter" or vice versa. I myself wrote in a 3rd party candidate by the way.

I feel like some Hillary supporters are being sore losers. I noticed that some of them came up with a number of excuses for her losing, such as Comey, fake news, 3rd party voters, Russia, Electoral College (whether or not any of them are legit is up to you).

I don't trust Trump's temperament but I think America may have dodged a bullet by not electing Hillary.

I, too, am willing to give him a chance. I have survived 5 different presidents in my voting history and I really believe in "meet the new boss, same as the old boss." Obama did a lot of good things but he also screwed up a lot. I'm hoping that Trump will do some good things and I'm sure he'll do a lot of bad things. Just as long as the Constitution is still standing in 4 years.

If he screws up, the dragon can eat obnoxious human just like he can eat of obnoxious furry. Although some Furreys would go orgasmic over that.

That didn't work with Clinton when he was impeached.
