If you start a new Phelps community I would definitely join. Your right with everything going on MPD. I don't even know who the MODS are and if they ever post anything on the community.

YES! Where do I sign up? The problem with MPD is that the person that does own the community is looonnng gone. There is no moderation, and you're right, I think things are headed towards an anarchy. I hate the personal digs, at members and at MP. This fangirl kingdom is my ESCAPE, I don't need more drama, got enough of that in my real life.

And yeah, you would have to moderate it yourself in your own community. But if its members only, you can also ban people if they can't follow the rules.

My offer still stand on my phelps fan group. YOu can do what you want it it and turn it into a wonderful place for Michaels fans plus you already have members. Just a thought and offer. I'd let you have total control of everything my dear!!!!

You would do that? Just turn it over to me like that?

Wow. That's so incredibly generous and selfless...that almost moves me to tears. Seriously.

Right at this very moment, I'm a bit tired so I'm not in a place for making this kind of decision...let mull it over. I've considered e-mailing the owner of MPD and making an offer to take over, but if this option is still open to me, that gives me more to think about.

Thank you so much...it really means a lot.

Whatever you decide, just make sure to put up the MP signal in the sky so we can all follow you, wherever you decide to make home.

My first preference would be to take over MPD and give that rule book a shakeup...but if rhardin is already offering up her community, as quiet as it's been there, it would almost be like starting from scratch...as she's stated, she'd let me do what I wanted with it. Wow. I still can't believe she's offering to me like that. That's such an incredible compliment.

I think you're 100% right. I come to MPD a lot less than I used to because it's gotten too rediculous.

I would love to see a new community that's members only (preferably 16/18+ years of age). I've seen quite a few comments that allude to our somewhat unrestrained conversations of a 'sexual nature'...and they're not nice. I'm not a slut/'psycho fan girl with unreal dreams'/etc. I just like to have fun and talk to adults about adult things. I like that we have fun like that on here ( ... )

I've got so much to think about now...and yes, I think for a fan community, there should be a place for fics, whether they're het or slash. I know that there's a couple of LJ communuites for fics, but I don't think they see a whole lot of movement.

So these are my choices now...take rhardin on her offer to take over her MP community, e-mail the owner of MPD and make an offer to take over, or start my own new community.

Ow, wow. A lot to think about. This is virgin territory for me.

Well the fic communities were never a really big hit from day one. A few people went over there but I think it would get more of a response if it were all combined in to one (fics, photos, actual news, etc). instead of subdividing it into other communities.

Also, the current fiction community doesn't allow things of a sexual nature. Sex can be mentioned, but acutal smut writing is a no-go.

I think whatever choice you make, it should definitely be a members only community. I mean, look at ONTD_OLY...the posts there are usually members only and it just seems so much more peaceful and friendly. And there's still a pretty large group there, which is encouraging.

Take you time and, like I said, I'm here to help if you need me :)

Thank you so much bb. I would *definitely* be in need of assistance of graphics & layouts & stuff...I'm a dummy at that kind of thing. All I know how to do is spam Phelpsporn.

I really wish Bunny & Megan were online right now. You, along with those two I consider my partners in crime...hell, pretty much almost everyone I have friended I take their advice to heart.

I did check the status of MPD's owner on LJ, and she is still alive and kicking, seems to keep up her own personal LJ on a regular basis and has the community friended...I'm kind of skittish at the idea of e-mailing a complete stranger and asking for ownership of the community she created. But then again, I'm getting the first-hand impression that she's on the MP bandwagon anymore.

Uh oh.

Omg...No...To me that was funny. But im a very crude person. So, I find a lot of things like that funny. And I didnt say *you* did it. So, dont worry.

I understand. And I dont find it awkward just to let you know. My friends and I *sometimes* talk like that. On a day to day basis. So, whatever you want...It is ur community.

If you want unfriend me you can. But I would hate to think that age difference bothers you. Because I think ur a real nice person. haha. Thanks. And yeah...im glad you were being honest. That's always important.

And see, that's the whole point. When you get older you very quickly develeop a sense of what appropriate and what's not when it comes to being "legal", I guess you could say...I understand that it's no awkward for you, but on this side of the fence it can be extremely uncomfortable. It the current days of online predators and such...you have to draw a line.

I'm not going to unfriend you, but I hope you understand why sometimes there needs to be distance. If I do start my own community, there most likely will be an age requirement.
