So for my sins I'm learning some PHP. Enough to create a custom theme for the Next Big Thing that Hilary and I are working on

I'm not a fan of XML comments since we cannot nest them. I often try to comment out a block that has a few comment lines in it. I'd much rather be able to mix block and line comments. I think I would get comfortable with fairly quickly.

They're both pretty ugly, but your point about nestability is a good one.
