Okay, this entry won't be chronological.
The BSB Portion:
My mom & I picked Sandie & Cait up at 5 and we headed out. When we got to the show, we had to get wristbands because we were sitting in the VERY front. I am still wearing mine proudly. Anyway, soon, Sandie got nachos, in true Starlake tradition, and we meandered. Then, my mom went to get a drink, leaving the three of us hanging on a wall near the seating area. Well, it's still a little before 7:30, when the opening acts were supposed to start. So we have LOTS of time, BSB isn't supposed to be on until like 8:45 or so. When all of a sudden, we hear this voice say "Hey everybody!" and Cait & I look up at each other, both realizing the exact same thing at the exact same time, and BOLT into the place, leaving Sandie, who had no idea what was going on. What was it that we realized at the exact same time? That was HOWIE'S voice. Yes, it was Howie, chillin' onstage like there was nothing wrong with coming out way too early to talk to the unsuspecting audience. The reason he was out was that his sister had just joined their tour, selling her CD exclusively and doing signings and stuff. So we ended up buying one and meeting Pollyanna. She was really sweet, it was nice. Sandie told her that she had gotten Howie's bear at the old concert, and Pollyanna laughed. :-P
Now, after that, I don't remember much else of importance. So, after the Idina story, I'm just going to insert pictures and tell the stories they inspire. :-P The Idina story, then. They had these huge screens where you could send text messages to the guys, and they would show up on the screen. Somebody had texted, "IDINA MENZEL IS HERE" in huge letters. Then, a few minutes later, I saw another one that said "Dee, where are you?? I'm your biggest fan." I was dying. If I ever meet her again, I will so ask her if she really WAS at the BSB concert last night. LOL
Oh, and after the first few songs, the first real break they took, just before Climbing the Walls (I think? the one where Nick played guitar) Brian asked who had seen them on the Black & Blue tour, to much applause, then the Millennium tour, to more enthusiastic applause, and then the ORIGINAL tour, to much haughty and excited applause. The one little tiny girl in front of me was cheering for all of them, and Brian looked right at her and said "Wait, what?? You're like twelve years old! You weren't even born then!! Unless your mom came to see it when she was.." and he pantomimed a pregnant stomach. ROFL I was dying. I think it made that little girl SO happy. :-D
Anyway, here are my pictures, and the stories they inspire.
This is either during "The Call" or "My Beautiful Woman". I'm thinking "The Call" though, because it was first, and I can't imagine myself not taking pictures during the first song. They did them straight through without stopping though. Yes, we were in the FOURTH ROW.
These three were My Beautiful Woman.
Nice ass shots, don't you think? ;)
Somehow, I never realized what a perfectly GORGEOUS specimen of a man Kevin was all those years.
I have to admit, though...I've recently developed a massive crush on Howie.
During "More Than That", they all took their seats on the stairs. Then, when the song really took off, they stood up, and Brian pulled out his Fists of Fury. ROFL (I love how Brian always makes fists when he sings).
More Howie.
More Fists of Fury
One thing I especially loved about this show was how casual it was. They were all just being complete goofballs on stage and wearing jeans. It was so natural and I adored it. They were just being themselves.
See what I mean? ;)
Nick pulled out the guitar to do "Climbing the Walls". The one lyric of the song where it says, "are you gonna let me in?" they were like making fun of Nick and I think it was AJ who sang "Never gonna let Nick dance" or something like that. cause he looked ridiculous.
AJ got a mohawk. Caitlan thinks it's because he's trying to hide the fact that he has a receding hairline. She also thinks the mohawk is HOT. I do too, actually. :-P That beach ball got tossed around QUITE a bit. Then later, a second one got tossed around and I touched it!! LOL. At one point, someone threw a teddy bear on stage and it hit Howie SMACK in the face. He kept shaking his head, like jokingly, but he really was disoriented. He got a really big beating that night, cause a few minutes later, Nick caught a stuffed animal and immediately turned at threw it at Howie's head. LMAO
Kevin is gorgeous. How did I ever miss that? Nick was very sweaty in this show. I mean it. First song wasn't even over and he was dripping. ROFL.
Another NICE ass shot!
I <3 my boys.
AJ singing while the rest do their "dancing without really dancing" as Howie calls it.
At this point, Nick held up the mike stand to his crotch and Howie started DYING.
Brian. Gotta love him!
Remember what I said about them being goofballs?
Great Kevin shot right there. Those were some NICE pants.
<3333
Nick looks scary in this one, but Brian's Fists of Fury are back for whatever song this is. Pretty sure it's "I'll Never Break Your Heart".
I love his smile. By the way, he winked at me during the show. That's right.
Nick & AJ picked on each other a bit...it was AJ's mom's birthday, too! She was there.
That's really hot.
The infamous Hat Dance of "All I Have to Give".
And the even MORE infamous "Larger Than Life" video dance.
Brian alone singing "Sibera"...
Soon joined by the rest of the guys...
After which, it started snowing! LOL
Brian doing the customary "finger shake" during "I Want It That Way".
AJ looking extremely sexy.
I <3333 Howie.
Brian too, actually. LOL
Goofy again!
Nick stole Howie's hat and ran with it, which made Howie run across and grab it off Nick's head.
Speaking of HATS...They actually were singing "Quit Playing Games" and when the lyric "this is not right" came up, he pointed to his hat.
I felt so bad for Kevin here - they were going to do "Weird World" and then "Incomplete" and Kevin's piano broke, so he had nothing to do. He was pissy after that, and Howie & Brian actually went out of their way to try to make him smile throughout Weird World. At one point, Howie looked away, and Brian bared all his teeth in the goofiest, most maniacal grin EVER and turned to Howie, who turned back, saw Brian, and like jumped a mile.
You can hardly tell, but it's the famous "Everybody" dance!
FIN!
We went to Eatin' Park afterwards with the slowest waitress I've ever experienced. We had an amazing night - we got home at like 2 AM. ROFL. That's what I will always love about the Backstreet Boys. No matter how long it's been or whatever, they have a magic on that stage, and through them, I get to have great memories with my best friend and our moms. :) YAY BSB!
An update on DUQ to come. Thanks for going through BSB! Sorry it was so loong! LOL
