Guess what I just saw?
What kills me is that they could have saved it, and so easily. I almost thought they were going to, for a minute. It would have been so simple.
It should have been Neytiri who wrote the Toruk. The perspective would have shifted, and what Jake would have learned was not that he was the Great White Hero, but that it was never his goddamn story to begin with. If they really wanted Jake to have his happily ever after, they could have pretty much switched him and Neytiri, and had him get the Consolation Prize Beastie and save her as Quaritch was about to kill her, thus winning life as at least an accepted member of The People if not their Super Magical Sailor Scout leader.
The animation was very impressive, at least. Too bad it didn't have a worthwhile story to back it up.
