There’s a moment of panic where she thinks that he’s still going to turn her down.

Even with all that she’s said. Even with her saying all she feels and all she means (and she really, really, means it) he’s still going to look at her and be that guy that she thought he was when she first moved here.

He’s silent for a moment too long- and he’s only silent for a moment- but that’s too much and she really needs him to speak because they haven’t been doing that and on top of everything else that she misses about him she misses that too.

She has to fill the silence and starts to list off every flaw she has-that he has to be thinking about-to let him know that she knows what’s wrong with her and she’s willing to work on it if he wants or needs her to.

But he doesn’t need her to.

Because yes, he knows she’s neurotic and bossy and a handful and he’s known that since she marched into his place that first night without warning or a hello and demanded that he drop everything to fix the power. She’s crazy and irrational and nothing proves that more than having her sit across from him and act like he needs to take time and think about being her boyfriend when she’s saying everything that he’s wanted to hear since the first moment he saw her.

He’s not in any kind of position to tell her to change when he knows he has things he needs to fix in himself. All he can do is move forward and drag her into a kiss, kick that wicker chair out of the way, and carry her inside.

They can work out the flaws and hash out the details in the morning.
