Day 04 - What you ate today, in great detailOkay, what? No. I'm not going to detail what I ate today. (Which is, by the way, a few glasses of water and some coffee. I think I'm getting sick and my throat is swollen. I just finished making some brown rice. Interesting, no?) Instead, I have decided to write about video and computer games. ( Read more... )

I have a copy of Loom! I love that you are as geeky about this stuff as me. :o)

I know, right? Loom is so creepy. But, if I remember correctly, it was how I got into Monkey Island. I know for a fact that I played a Monkey Island demo before I ever bought the game.

I'm kinda happy I've found geeks to relate to, too. I was the only one liking this stuff as a kid. ONLY one.

eta: btw I'm playing the remake of MI2 now and it's actually great. Not only is is clearing things up for me (I thought the woodsmith on Scabb was a woman until the remake cleared that up), but the creator commentary is awesome too.

I really want to play that! It looks so cool. I also need to get my DVD of all the new episodes. But what I really, really need is more time to play games!

When I moved to Berlin I called home and said "At night it reminds me of Melee Island!" Which is extremely high praise and everyone back home was impressed.

I downloaded hundreds of games from http://www.hotud.org/ but as it turns out the only games I really love are the Monkey Island games.

My only problem now is that I have a Mac and can't play my games anymore so I'm thinking about getting a cheap PC laptop just so that I can play sometimes. Kind of weird, I admit.

lol. I'll check that site out, thanks. It's a shame Steam is only for PC, because the remake includes an ability to swap to the original artwork while playing.

Prophecy! http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/prophecy I liked that game, too. At least, I think this is the same one to which you are referring.

nope. this one was out at least as early as 1990, when I was playing it. and it was a blocky-type game, looked like Ultima. good try, though.
