Quick Post - SV: Reckoning

I finally got to watch it, and

I loved this episode. The first in three I've wanted to rewatch immediately. Tom was excellent and played Clark all throughout the episode with a certain kind of vulnerability that made me identify with his moods. And he swung wildly from nervous, to anticipatory, sad, happy, devastated, and grief-stricken. I was with him all the way. The writers gave him an excellent point of view, very understanding and set up the events that would influence his choices and decisions.

For a moment I was with Clark/Lana when she accepted his proposal and he twirled her around. It was such a sweet scene, and they looked so happy and in love. When Clark is happy, I'm happy, so I was just really sad for him because I would have liked him to have remained like that for a little while longer. Not to have to worry continously, but that wasn't to be because his world came crashing down around him.

The funeral sequence was so beautiful and haunting, the falling snow gave it an eerie feeling and music was well chosen. They all added up to a pretty sad moment. I've rewatched it a few times. I love that if all else fails I can always rely on this show to have excellent cinematography, especially the overhead shot at the end of just Clark and Martha standing on either side of the coffin. All so pitch perfect.

I loved that Lex came to the funeral, even though his relationship with Clark has deteriorated to this extent, he still came to pay his respects.

I love this song just so damn much and it was perfect for the ending: Peter Gabriel - I Grieve

Now, I'm off to watch the Women's Australian Open final. It's about to start. Jeez, I'm going to be so wrecked tomorrow.
