I know exactly how you feel, cause that's how I feel about Brandtson and Bedford Drive, cause I think they are so amazing and think everyone should enjoy their music (credit Megan for introducing me to them)...but I know if people get to know them well, I will feel like I am no longer special in a way...to be able to know them. I also get that feeling when there is a song I love on a CD by the Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, or Three Doors Down and then it starts being played on the radio and getting over played or hear someone else singing a long and I wonder if they really feel the power of the words like I feel, and think to myself that there is no way that they can, and I start to feel the song is cheapened by it or tainted even. Almost like the song loses it's virginity. Perhaps I am just crazy though.

I definitely know that feeling about a lot of bands. On one hand you want the band to be successful and to spread their greatness as far as possible to as many people as possible. On the other hand, you don't want a bunch of fucking retard kids going to the shows because the band is "cool" now because they had a hit single when half the kids don't even realize the actual greatness of the band they are seeing. They go because it is "cool." Music is not supposed to be listened to because it is "cool." Music is an art, not a fashion statement. Bands like Before I Go and Alucard are amazing, and I don't want some freshman in high school moshing to the songs when I am trying to watch them perform just because moshing is "cool." Sorry. That rant went on much longer than I expected. I was just ( ... )
