First backpacking trip of the year
I'm planning on a trip June 19-21, somewhere in the Olympics. I'd go sooner, but that's the first weekend I have free. Now to figure out just which trail to take... -

Folklife day 1
Lovely weather for Folklife. Not a cloud in the sky, warm but not too hot... and it's looking to stay about the same for the rest of the weekend. Well, maybe not the no clouds... but no rain, which is a welcome change. Lots of music, dancing, people I haven't seen since last year's... the usual. -

Going to be at NW Folklife all weekend. Looks like the weather's be nice the entire time, which is a welcome change from the usual. Yay! -

Last night I finally got around to signing up for netflix. I'm irked that their streaming player is built using propriety Microsoft stuffs and that I thus don't have a computer that I can watch movies on, but no late fees for dvds and a huge selection finally got to be just too much temptation. -
frustration, part infinity
When I lived in Seattle, I volunteered a bit with Habitat for Humanity, helping build houses. There's a separate HfH organization for the eastside, with a build site not too far away from where I live. Come home from work, check email... and see that Lee Stripling, one of the last of the great classic old-timey fiddlers, died. I danced to his bands many times over the years since I discovered contra... He'll be missed. *sigh* -

I spend quite a bit of time at work in dimly lit rooms, squinting at my watch and trying to see the second hand as I'm checking somebum's pulse. No watch that I've ever owned has had a backlight that'll stay on for 15 seconds without continuously holding down a button, which isn't practical for pulse checking.
