My Star - iii
Junho x Suzy; 1370 words
★ While writing this one heck of a fic, I fell in love with Junho even more. Huhuhu Lisa now I understand why. Hihi anyways here's the last part! ♡♡
His lips crashed into hers. Sooji was caught off-guard (again) but she understood. He caressed her hair, while she had her arms around his neck. Junho finally let go of her, gasping for air. He now knew that he wanted her. More than anything else.
“I asked that question because I have to know. Because I am. I am in love with you.”
Sooji was red in the cheeks, and she looked absolutely flushed. “Junho…”
Before she could say anything, he kissed her forehead and stared at her. It took a moment before he could say anything. He got lost in the ocean inside Sooji’s eyes.
“I have to tell you that I’m not doing this just to grant your wish, not anymore. I want to be with you. I want you.”
Sooji looked like she was about to cry. “Junho,” she started, slightly backing away from him, “I’m scared. I’m afraid that I might lose you.” For the short span of time that she knew Junho, she never felt that sure in her entire life. No one else made her feel that alive. Only Junho. “I love you so much, you dumbass. You made me like this that no one ever could.” She started crying.
Junho held her close to him. “Don’t worry. I’m here, all right? I just have to talk to Mars about this, but I honestly don’t know how.”
The last thing she remembered was sleeping on his lap and him leaning down to kiss her a couple of times. The taste of his lips still lingered on her, the taste of strawberries, which they were eating last night, with a hint of chocolate in the corner. “Junho, you tease.”
She got up and realized that she slept on the couch, the exact couch where Junho slept on. Flustered, she looked around. No sign of him anywhere. Where could he possibly go without even leaving a note? Or did he even know that leaving notes were normal?
Night came quicker as she expected. She was staring blankly at the door, hoping that Junho would walk in any minute. But he didn’t. It was a minute past midnight when she felt sleep creep in. She buried herself under the covers, wiping her eyes every so often with the pillow that still had Junho’s scent still lingering around it: the ocean and his favourite cologne.
Morning came. Still no sign of him. Of course she lost hope. He should be back by now.
“You make me fall in love with you and you just leave? Asshole.”
See, this is what she got for falling in love too fast. She knew it. She knew it. Junho has left just like every shooting star that crashes. Of course she was upset. Of course she was mad. Of course she cried. Love is worth crying for, right?
She skipped school for the day. She figured it wouldn’t do her any good because she would just be distracted throughout the classes anyway. She just sat at the kitchen counter with her empty cup of coffee, staring at Junho’s sofa (it was his sofa now), staring into empty space. Was she supposed to feel anything? Anger? Sadness? Hatred? Maybe. Maybe a while ago, but now she felt empty. Just that.
She has never got into this stage of life ever. It was an overwhelming feeling. Maybe that was why they called it falling in love. Once you fall, you could never go back up. But maybe you could try climbing, but it would be hard, what with all the pain and suffering you had to endure before getting back up. Wow, I sound gibberish now. Is this what I get from all those Literature classes I’ve been diligently attending?
On the seventy-fifth night (after meeting Junho, at least), she finally came to the conclusion that Junho will never be back in her life. She waited for a long time, but he ran out of reasons to wait any longer. There was still love, of course she still loved Junho, but if the boy didn’t want her any longer, then so be it. There was no point grumping around doing nothing while she still had a life to attend to.
The eightieth night came, and she was studying in the living room. She was sitting on Junho’s sofa (she still names it that) when she heard a knock on the door. “Hello? Is someone still up?”
Sooji recognized the voice all too well. She ran to the door and opened it to find someone. Someone she always remembered in the morning. Someone she always remembered before she went to sleep. Someone she thought of quite some time now, and someone she wondered will ever come back. He looked just like the first time she saw him: pathetic and more pathetic. Sooji couldn’t help it. She literally ran into his arms and cried, “Who are you to leave me, huh? You’re a complete jerk.”
“Starting from this day, I’ll be the jerkiest jerk you have ever met in your life.” Junho held her even tighter.
She smiled. He smelled so damn good, and the feeling of him holding her was definitely more than she wanted.
“I got permission from Mars. And you don’t need to worry about me leaving you from now on.” Junho let go of her. “But seriously, why would you miss me after a few days? Am I that gorgeous that you can’t stand one moment without looking at my beautiful face?”
Sooji crossed her arms and shook her head, laughing. “A few days my ass. You are one piece of work.”
“But I am the one you wished for, so you just have to deal with what you’ve got.”
Sooji laughed again. How did he end up with this guy? Mars must’ve hated and loved her at the same time.
“Junho.. Junho..” She murmured in her sleep. She could her a faint knocking on her door. She opened her eyes to see her books sprawled all over the floor. What? Where’s Junho?
“Hello? Is someone still up?”
Sooji rubbed her eyes while walking to the door. That voice is so familiar.
She opened the door and quickly came to her senses.
“Hello, I’m Junho. Your next door neighbor. Sorry, I don’t quite remember my last name. So you can call me Junho. Just Junho.
“I just moved in from the next town. Sorry to bother you at such a late hour, but I’m just really curious if my neighbors are cute girls, and I’m definitely right.” He laughed.
Sooji shook her head and laughed, with a hint of sadness in it.
“You have no right to tell me that, you just met me today.”
“But I would like to get to know you more. Um, miss, why are you crying? Did I say something wrong? What I said a while ago, I didn’t mean it, well, I meant it, but not in a bad way, I’m sorry.” The boy bowed in courtesy and respect.
Sooji laughed. “No, it’s okay. It’s just, you remind me of someone. His name is also Junho. And you look and sound just like him.”
“Well, I’m sure I’m not him, but I could be another Junho in your life.” He winked at her.
She laughed. “Okay then. I guess I’ll see you around.”
“Okay, miss. I’ll see you around. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight.”
“Oh, I didn’t get your name.”
“Sooji. Bae Sooji.”
“It was nice meeting you, Sooji.”
“You too.”
He flashed a grin at her and she did the same. She shut the door behind her and crashed onto Junho’s sofa. She cried and cried and cried. But she knew it was tears of happiness. She was happy that she met him again for the first time. This time she believed that Mars really was true and all that happened between her and Junho was true. It was true love that confirmed everything.
“So, I’m back to square one, huh, Mars? You really do love me.”
Sooji lay on Junho’s sofa for the entire night, guessing whether one of those stars up in the twinkling sky still had a crush on the guy from across the street.
