You mean like, online? I met my husband that way and know quite a few other people who didn't meet in person until they were sure they liked each other.
Soo, i know this guy for almost seven years now and we always talk. I realy like him, and he says he like me too, and he want to know me in person. He even talked about getting maried someday.
But sometimes, i just don't know what to think about all thiss.
I met my ex online. We were friends for about a year and then we decided to get to know each other better, date, and meet. We went out for nine months before I ended it because, after getting to know him irl, we didn't mesh.
On the other hand I know several couples that got married after meeting online (mostly through MMORPGs) and are now married. One has been married for about ten years... maybe more.
If you want to meet him and get to know him, I'd suggest doing so in an open area. Go have dinner somewhere... maybe have a rl friend hang out nearby. Go see a movie or something. Talk, chat about life etc. Get to know the person behind the computer. Tell him straight up that you want to get to know him in real life before even thinking about spending your life together as more than friends.
You know we spent hours chating, talking in the phone, he always help me, and say someting nice to me when im sad without i telling him that someting is wrongs.
He lives like 9 states from me (in here - brazil, is really, really far away), but he says it doenst matter to him, that he likes me and want to know me more.
He is the kind of guy that always tell you looks beautiful, and that he is very happy because he will know me.
But i have a few issues with all that. Just don't know what to do or think sometimes.
My cousin met his wife online. I like what surevesta said. If you meet him in person, bring a friend so you're safe just in case. Meet somewhere public so if it doesn't work out, he can't find you.
