To top it all off, he’s intelligent and brilliant and knows how to stand up for himself if needed. How do such people even exist?
Really, really like this line, because it seems to express what so many of Erik's expressions are about when he looks at Charles. 'How are you real?'
Charles never looks away, his fervent gaze searching for something, waiting, and it is Erik who has to look away.
*delighted shiver*
They are verging on the line of being completely and utterly misunderstood by people around them, but neither of them seems to actually care.
This! This, while he reads to her from his dissertation! *inarticulate flailing*
She gives Erik a warm look, one he is not ( ... )

Again, I'm very flattered that you think that it's brilliant (although I think it's not..)~ Personally, I think I did okay with this one, but most importantly I've covered a topic that is very dear to my heart- and Charles & Raven relationship is written from my relationship with my elder brother. We too, just as Raven & Charles, get very misunderstood.
Also! I'm so happy that the dialogue works for you! (The part I'm most proud about) And the childhood memories, I needed to add the angst and deep and true meaning to their relationship. That it's stained in blood, yet still pure.
Thank you Meredith, for reading it! :)

garnettrees has mentioned several of my favorite lines, so I won't repeat, but: there are so many gorgeous aspects to this piece! The way you use every sense, in your descriptions--sight, taste, scent, sound--and the dialogue, which feels very Erik-and-Charles to me, in the way they so often talk *around* important topics and deliberately understand or misunderstand each other...and also I love that you're exploring the Charles & Raven bond, which is really underused in fic, but is so meaningful to them--they really are all each other has, for so long. And you've shown that beautifully.
Such a perfect little break from my own writing! Thank you! *all the love*

I'm so glad that the descriptions work for you. And I'm very proud how this dialogue turned out, actually. Whenever I need to write a serious conversation between these two, my mind instantly goes to the chess match they had in the movie. Although their dialogue in the movie was rather short, but it had great dynamic.
And Charles & Raven bond, yes. Maybe you've read it, I had an entry where I talk about my very own relationship with my elder brother- the scenes in the fic are taken from our interactions, well, most of them, anyway. :D
*all the love right back* Thank you for reading it, love!
