How  the the Catholic church justify decorating its cathedrals and basilicas with stolen artifacts? Seriously! San Marco in Venice is full of Byzantine loot! I thought there was a commandment against that or something...

haha. There is an artifact used to house the bones of a saint that was stolen from one church by a priest and is now kept in another church. I find out the name of the saint, but if i can find the artifact i will send it to you.

I blame the pope.

I know there were a lot of "holy robberies" during the Middle Ages. I believe the relic of a child-martyr was stolen, and the theif justified it by saying she had come to him in a dream, demanding to be moved.

But it's terrible that they turn a blind eye to this! They were stealing from Constantinople! At the time, it was up there with Rome as one of the greatest religous centers (Jerusalem, Antioch, and Alexandria had become less influential/been taken over by Muslims). They were stealing from comrades! You can't even justify it by trying to say they were "rescuing" it from advancing Muslim armies! I know they didn't order the Latin armies to loot the city, but still.
