OK, lay them on me...

What wedding planning sites (preferably free) do y'all recommend?
And why?

I already have found:
http://www.theknot.com
http://offbeatbride.com

Thanks!

In 2000, jbriggs and I used The Knot as we were in two cities (SJ and SD). It let us do a lot of planning and updating and the export the reports and lists we needed.

I still recommend The Knot for a lot of their tips and tricks for keeping things simple and focused, and I'm an Event Planner.

I also liked the fact that when the time came, they sent us a couple of our registered china items as gifts to us. Not sure why, or if someone bought them for us anonymously, but got them...but that was 8 years ago. YMMV.

i planned my own weddings..... both went off with little to no hitch! i liked my photographer alot...but he is located on the alameda in san jose, so i don't think that is very convenient for you. an absolutley fabulous venue for a reception is the los gatos opera house...also might be a bit out of the area you want.....

I've heard very good things about:
http://www.herecomestheguide.com/

I seem to know about 15 couples getting married this year, so far. I've occasionally been trying to gather lists of places to consider in case they're useful for others.

I have a friend from high school getting married, and she's mostly used The Knot. A forum that she likes, though, is http://kvetch.indiebride.com/

(Unfortunately, it seems to be down at the moment. Keep trying to see if it comes up. It has some very insightful posts and discussions.)
