I seem to have lost my wallet. On top of some other crappy stuff going on (small fender-bender on Sunday in the parking structure which was my fault because I was the one backing-up at the time), this just really bites

Rental car companies will take the paper temporary license and a photo ID. I'd check into booking an appt for a replacement. Rockridge is usually slightly better than Hegenberger.

Thanks for the reminder. I am not far from the Rockridge DMV, so that is the one I should probably go to. I was tempted to go all the way to the El Cerrito one because I have found it to be better than most, but I had forgotten about the Rockridge one.

If your schedule is flexible, there is also an approximate wait time link. It was surprisingly accurate for the DMV in SF. If you are flying, you will need ID for the airline too. :(
