Just noticed while trying to listen to Audioslave that their song "Show me how to live's" intro sounds a lot like the intro to the Rage demo song "Narrows". I dunno.......
Your right about that resemblance. They sound similar but he changed it up a bit obviously. I was wondering if anyone else noticed that Tom re-uses some of his stuff on other songs. If you had a chance to hear Radio Free L.A. you would also notice that 'Tire Me' has that same sound you hear in the opening to Cochise. Going back to the demos tho, you forgot to mention that for that song [is it called The Narrows, In the Narrows or just Narrows..anyway?..] he has a pretty sick solo going on. You can also [or maybe its just me] hear a similarity of the intro to 'Autologic' to that of 'Wake up'.
Just goes to show you Tom's talent when it comes to mixing it up. Im already looking forward to the new album later this yr. Im sure he'll come back wit something old with a new touch. Or better yet something completely new. I thought he showed a new range to his guitars wit that last album.
Go to the source; ratm.com. At the main menu keep scrolling down. Radio Free LA is in between the Boycott Taco Bell & The Battle Of Quebec City links.
The link takes you to another page where you can listen to the show, not too sure if its the entire show or not, or even the whole set that they played. The set I got was set up like this: People of the Sun Roll Right Bulls On Parade Wind Below Without a Face Tire Me Vietnow Year of the BoomerangAs far as getting those tracks on a CD, Good luck. I found mine by way of an old rage site that had the show on its server. The sites closed now I think, but Im sure some site out there has it available. Trust me tho, its worth the search. The songs sound nothing like what they do on Evil Empire. They got a funkier sound thanks to Stephen Perkins and Flea playing with Tom an Zack
