RP log with Rahal

Jul 14, 2009 18:36

Rahal: *he waited on the beach, dressed in light clothing with a few pieces of his traditionally light armor, a wooden model of his blade tucked into his belt, waiting for Borus to appear*

Borus: *feeling self-conscious without his armor, he made his way to the lake, dressed in his casual wear and a wooden swords at his side as well* Seems like you picked a lovely day to be out here.

Rahal: *grins* As much fun as a sword fight in the rain would be, I do prefer sunshine.

Borus: I agree. *smirks and draws the sword* Are you ready then, good sir?

Rahal: I have been waiting. *chuckles and gets into position, a lower stance than Borus was probably used to seeing* Are you ready?

Borus: Of course. *raises the sword and lunges in with a hard swing*

Rahal: *he took a step back, bracing in the sand and meeting the attack from the side, their swords clashing with a resounding crack. He dropped, gathered his legs and surged up to push the bigger man back, kicking out with his leg*

Borus: *thankfully he didn't have his armor to slow him down, and he jumped back and away from the Dragon knight's kick* Sorry, not this time. *grasps the hilt tightly as he swings a little lower this time*

Rahal: *he jumped, tucking his legs and then thrusting his hips to bring his sword around in a wicked arch aimed at Borus's upper shoulders*

Borus: *raises an eyebrow in surprise at Rahal's speed and barely turns his body around in time to dodge the full brunt of his swing, the wooden blade glancing off his right shoulder* ... Not bad. *smirks as he lunges forward again*

Rahal: *he landed in the sand went down, rolling into a backwards somersault and coming up in the defensive, grinning, hair littered with sand* You aren't so bad yourself.

Borus: Well, that's good to hear, that's for sure. *chuckles* But tell me - how the hell do you manage to fight without getting your hair pulled? Doesn't it get in the way?

Rahal: *he lunged forward, swinging in sharp, staccato thrusts from varying angels* I just make sure no one gets at my back.

Borus: A good prevention, certainly. *skillfully parries each thrust, moving backwards as he did so, waiting to see what Rahal's next move would be*

Rahal: *he kept the pace steady, testing Borus at different angles, neatly turning and using his body to put more power behind the thrusts*

Borus: *frowns a little - so that's how it's going to be, eh?* I wonder if Yuber attacked Percival from behind ... *winces at one thrust but side-steps the next and makes for a hard swing at Rahal's side*

Rahal: *he turned the blade on its side, bracing the back with one hand and meeting the blade in a stalemate, glowering* It wouldn't be beneath him I'm sure, but then again it may be.

Borus: *pulls his arm back for another swing* He isn't above causing as much death and destruction as he can. *narrows his eyes as he grasps the hilt with both hands for a swing from above*

Rahal: *back pedals quickly to avoid that, aware of the strain on him it would take to absorb the blow, and the damage if it hit* I'll take your word for it.

Borus: Good. *he drops his sword to his side for a moment, looking a bit distracted as angry thoughts begin to consume him*

Rahal: *he takes that moment of distraction, dancing in and moving the blade to try and lightly bop Borus on the head*

Borus: *blinks as he feels the wooden sword tap him on the top of his head* Oh, damn it.

Rahal: And now, good sir, you are dead. *bops him again and backs a few steps* Come on. Game face, Sir Knight, game face.

Borus: Sorry, Rahal. The thought of that bastard makes me so angry. *grips his sword again as he faces the Falenan* All right, second round.

Rahal: *nods and takes up a position again* Engarde, Borus.

Borus: *smirks and moves towards Rahal again, leaning in low and aiming to strike at the last possible moment*

Rahal: *he rose up on his toes, spinning away and bringing his blade down over Borus' with a crack. He then punched out with his foot at Borus' blade and brought the other to bear, aiming at Borus' face*

Borus: *not expecting Rahal's move, the blow connects and he stumbles backwards a little before falling onto his butt* ...

Rahal: *blinks. He hadn't expected that to work, really. There was always the chance, but he thought Borus would dodge* Are you all right, Borus?

Borus: *shakes his head and growls* No, I'm not. I'm much too preoccupied with other thoughts, unfortunately.

Rahal: *tucks his sword in his belt and then sits on the sand with him, sighing* With more than just Percival's attack?

Borus: *raises an eyebrow* What? Am I still that obvious?

Rahal: You do carry your emotions on your sleeve, Borus.

Borus: *sighs and drops his head* Damn it, it's not like I intend to. Well, I am worried about Percival but I at least can check in on him. However, I can't do the same with Lady Chris ...

Rahal: What's wrong with the Lady?

Borus: Nothing, to my knowledge at least. She's just away and I'm not there and I know she can take care of herself but still! I should be there by her side ...

Rahal: Oh my. You love her, don't you?

Borus: *turns beet red* W-what? When did I say that?

Rahal: *laughs* It's in the way you act.

Borus: You mean I'm just completely obvious. *lets out another sigh* But yes, I'm ... in love with her. I have been ever since we first met. She's the most important person in my life and yet, here I am, showing nothing for it.

Rahal: You know, sometimes a good way to show you love someone is just by being there for when they get back.

Borus: I have every intention of doing so. But I'm not patient enough to wait. I want ... I want to go to her now but I did promise to patrol in Percival's place and I want to be here for him. *with another growl, he adds* And I stiil intend to get Yuber, no matter what.

Rahal: *squeezes his shoulder* Have you ever considered telling her how you feel?

Borus: *blushes again* ... She knows ... without my saying anything. *smiles slightly* And she returns my feelings ...

Rahal: That is wonderful, Borus. I'm happy for you. So that makes it all the harder to sit and wait, doesn't it?

Borus: *nods* I'm anxious for her safety and eager for her company ...

Rahal: I know how that goes.

Borus: *just sighs again* I wish I could stop being so pathetic ...

Rahal: *actually laughs at that* I thought it was sort of rule that men in love simply had to act pathetic.

Borus: Have you been in love before?

Rahal: Yes..... I still am, though nothing will come of it, I'm afraid.

Borus: ... Oh. I'm sorry ...

Rahal: It's okay. I've come to accept it and keep it as a close friendship.

Borus: That's good, at least. I would hate to lose a friend because she didn't return my feelings ...

Rahal: *Oh, it wasn't a 'she' he spoke of, but sure, he went with that* I'd have little time for them anyway, back home. Being a commander put a serious kink in my potential love life.

Borus: ... That ... is a good point. *glances out over the water as he considers his and Chris' own situation* Lady Chris never did have time ... or so it seemed.

Rahal: If you two truly love each other, you'll make time. Perhaps I could have, if they loved me back, but... *shrugs*

Borus: *pats him lightly on the shoulder* You never know. I didn't think Lady Chris had any feelings for me too but she did. The same might be true for you as well. Or if not, perhaps you will meet someone here ...

Rahal: *smiles* Perhaps I shall, especially since I have so much down time.

Borus: I should socialize a little more and look for someone for you. *smirks before facepalming* Goddess, I sounded like Percival there ...

Rahal: *laughs* No, it was a very nice thought. You'd probably be better at it than me. I'm... always a bit to formal, I think.

Borus: *dismisses Rahal's statement with a wave* There are plenty of people who are formal. There are bound to be others like you here. We just need to look around a bit.

Rahal: I thought it was opposites that attracted. *smirks*

Borus: ... *frowns as he pauses to think* Well, that's what they say but it's probably not always true. Besides, if you're too different, how will you ever get along?

Rahal: Hmm, that's true. Well, what kind of partner would you suggest for me then? *The one he truly loved was similar to him, but different in those small ways that made the man loveable*

Borus: I can't say. No one I know comes to mind just yet. I'll have to think about it or just talk to some of the recent arrivals. What are your preferences?

Rahal: *Oh, this... this could be awkward...* Someone who can hold their own, engage in an actual conversation, and isn't afraid of Flail.

Borus: *nods* Sounds like good qualities in a girl. *laughs* Especially the last part about not being afraid of Flail.

Rahal: Anyone I am with must accept Flail. I will not give her up. It is a simple fact of my life.

Borus: *smiles* Well then, that will definitely have to be a test, won't it? If the lady can't stand Flail, she is obviously not a choice.

Rahal: Certainly not.

Borus: At least that will filter out all the various contenders quickly. I think.

Rahal: Yes, does make things a bit easier.

Borus: *slaps Rahal across the back before standing* Well, we better get cracking then, right?

Rahal: *gets up, rubbing his shoulder. Borus is stronger than he looks* Ready for another round already? Or is it back to patrol?

Borus: Patrol? Are you kidding me? *laughs before giving Rahal a knowing look* We are going to the tavern to check out the ladies. And ask them if they like dragon horses. *is definitely becoming over-willing and too eager to "assist" Rahal*

Rahal: *Yes, especially since Rahal doesn't know how to tell Borus that he doesn't even like women that way. ;_; Oh well...* All right, but don't let me drink any. You know how bad I am with liquor.

Borus: I won't force you to if you'd rather not drink. Besides, there are plenty of non-alcoholic beverages too. *grins* I'd invite Percival to come along but he insists that he's not looking for anyone right now. But lets keep an eye out for him too just in case.

Rahal: Heh, of course. And yes, I'm... well, Roog let everyone in the calvary know I was not to have alcohol - period.

Borus: A shame. It adds to the fun but I'll admit it isn't necessary. And you're hardly the only one who can't tolerate alcohol so don't worry about it. *glances back in the direction of the castle* Well then, shall we?

Rahal: Surely. *grins, brushing the sand off himself* Lead the way, Sir Knight.

Borus: Gladly. *heads in the direction of the tavern, strangely excited at the prospect of finding a match for Rahal and possibly Percival as well*

Rahal: *just hopes Borus doesn't expect him to make out with a woman or anything. Chaste kisses and flirting he can do, but any more than that? Not to his tastes*
