WE HAVE AN APARTMENT! 1100 sq ft. $400+elec a month. allows cats and dogs. 1880's building, just 3 neighbors in other parts of the building, exposed brick in bedroom, tall tall windows in every room, fireplace, 2nd floor with view, oriental rugs on floors. clawfoot tub. I so want one of those. We had one growing up. My Great-Grandparents/Great-Uncle had one on the farm... *deep sigh* nothing like having a wonderfully deep/wide bath tub.
Mind you, at the farm, the bath was in the middle of the room and to put water in it, you had to carry buckets and because the farm was in the middle of the outback, to heat the water, you had to heat it in HUGE pots on the Agar - woodstove - and get an adult to carefully carry it in and the bath water was used for EVERYONE (ewwww) and it would run out of a hole going into the floor, which had a pipe and the water ran out to the piggery! NOTHING was wasted on that property *lol*
but the bath (usually on a Saturday night before 7pm Mass *lol*) was a great thing by the time I came along cos only Uncle lived on the property and his nephews and their children (me etc) would come and work during our school holidays.
ahhh a bath!!
