A few years ago i lost a friend over what i wrote in an online journal. It was the words that i wrote that ended the friendship (or whatever it was). i can accept the blame. That was the overall conclusion that i came to in what i had written, which is why i consider myself a hypocrate. But, thank you for saying it all so clearly! :D

it's not hypocritical to decide some stuff should be more private that other stuff. the base fact that *you* get to make that choice remains.

i'd like to think that someone would be willing to talk out stuff that they read in livejournal that bothers them, though. *sigh*

i agree with you denise! i think you should be able to write whatever you feel in a journal, whether online or physical. people take offense to so many various things, that to try to avoid that would just make the whole journal writing thing futile. and in all honesty, if someone does find somethign offensive, they should be comfortable enough to bring it up to you and discuss it, rather than jump to conclusions. and i do agree that it is important to be aware of what you are expressing and in what venue you are expressing it in, but you should never change who you are or what you feel just to appease other people.
