Don't take this too seriously. I am one of the first to jump to the defense of the deep south and many red states. Half of my family is in the Wyoming Montana area. This is just a funny little diatribe, in my mind. It is a response to the "Godless liberal" trope that is so popular among many right-wing folk. I especially enjoyed the bit "Since our aggregate divorce rate is 22 percent lower than the Christian Coalition’s, we get a bunch of happy families." Which is an interesting statistic I intend to research. This is merely a portrayal of the old "my state is better than your state" arguments that we Americans enjoy but rarely honestly mean. Also, Washington and California are not All Liberal any more than Texas is All Republican. Everywhere in Washington EXCEPT Seattle is red, and nearly all the agricultural areas in California are republican, if California cares to make that distinction at all. (Remember California elected republican governor Ah-nold even though it's population is majority democrat.)
