While I like Bowie (and particular that bit in The Prestige) - my dream casting is Patrick Stewart.

I find myself picturing older actors as the Doctor lately (e.g. Bill Nighy or Anthony Stewart Head).

Just to go in a different direction.

What sort of Doctor would you like to see Bettany play?

Dear sir,

While I cannot endorse your vote for the eleventh doctor, I do appreciate your fondness of Bowie-Tesla. I implore you consider other options with this individuals acting time. Imagine Bowie in a show based on the Marvelous Adventures of Nikola Tesla! In fashion of The Prestige, Tesla builds amazing adventures and sets up shop in different towns each season, all the while evading the foul henchmen of the dastardly Edison!

Imagine the impossibilities!

Sincerely,
jeffool.

we'll have to agree to disagree on this one, for the simple fact that much as I love Bowie, he just doesn' have the acting range for the Doctor.

... his Tesla I found distracting because his accent was so all over the place...and he was looking dangerously like Ricky Gervais all the time...

...so who do I see as the Doctor. Well I thought that one of those Spy Kids movies was basically Alan Cummings show reel for the part, but I agree that an older actor would make a nice change.

I have yet to watch more than 5 minutes of a Spy Kids movie.

I would not complain if Alan Cummings got the part.

He looks the part but damn it, I'm still hoping for Chris Barrie.

Or possibly David Jason (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Jason) for a sort of Troughton-type one. But Barrie would be my first choice.
