Dress Diary: Køstrup Apron Dress - Extrapolating the Rest

For my interpretation of the Køstrup apron dress, I am concentrating on the single surviving seam between the front loop and the underarm to guide my interpretation. I like your idea of using Moselund as a basis. Btw, I was wondering what your reasons for the front gore is (apart from pattern symmetry)? Wouldn't the pleating create width enough for the front?

Hilde Thunem said there was probably about 4 cm of uptake from the pleating, so I worry it wouldn't be quite enough width to be able to run if I had to. Plus it uses up the last of the fabric in what would have been a very awkwardly thin scrap to use up!

Huh... I would have guessed the pleating would make a bigger difference. And of course running is important, especially if you have too many things in your hands to be able to hold up the dress.

That's what a lot of people seem to think, and probably why the major recreations so far have huge pleats instead of the 2-3 mm ones on the find.
