It's an entry level position, I cleaned vegetables, helped make their rBQ Sauce and tried to slice my thumb off cutting jalapenos on a mandoline on the first night. I've done prep every night so far, I talked to the chef that actually runs the place daily (and who actually hired me) about learning a station on the line and possibly get myself off prep. Although I really like learning how they make everything and they make EVERYTHING in house. Condiments, sauces, you name it. Maybe a raise too if I'm lucky. So far they seem to really like me and have already told me they would love to have me working full time. I have to say I've really kept my nose to the grinding stone and busted everything they ask me to do out post haste. The work atmosphere is great, I like everyone I've met so far and everyone is cheerful and upbeat.
