Wow, I've never really noticed the similarity before. But, this does explain why I love Tim Burton films so much. I love German expressionism. :)

yeah, i guess that does explain :D
when i started looking into expressionist films, i realized it reminded me a lot of beetlejuice. those weird statues and that hallway in the other world.
