Finally seeing some movies lately. Ninja Turtles was amusing, a lot like a sequel to the 90s films. Really hyped up the family emphasis of the original comics / 2002 cartoon, also.

The Last Mimzy was cute. Gotta say, I wouldn't declare that my family needed to 'get help' simply because my kids were suddenly smarter, only to freak out further every ( Read more... )

See, TMNT was made to be a sequel to the 90's films, they just didn't have $100 million to do it in live action.

It did seem like it. Husband and I really liked the fact taht they didn't go the obvious route and have the return of the Shredder. Although Karai's 'familiar faces' comment set it up nicely for the hypothetical Next One. Interestingly enough, did you notice that whenever she sent the foot off somewhere, there was only one guy staying with her? Possibly "Daddy" (going by the 2002 cartoon there, since comics Karai wouldn't have given a damn about him, to my knowledge) in recovery?

I did notice that, actually. Also, did you notice in the one scene there was an implication of juts how tough she is, as she had three fronts to defend...and she sent off one "platoon" of foot soldiers to defend one front, another "platoon" of foot to defend the second, and then went off on her own to defend the third (the front gate)? Very cool.

I'm hoping they do a sequel as I've seen this twice now and I really enjoyed it. It managed to be faithful to the original comic, the 90's films and the recent animated series, all at the same time!

Indeed.

I hope they do too. With lots of Casey. Hmm, might have the wedding. Especially since weddings are a great place for long-lost supervillians to make an entrance. Heh.
