Anime North + Ponies
I guess I should finally write about Anime North here :P
I've mostly gotten over my post-con depression though!
Ok, so Thursday was sort of uneventful, though we did manage to get our pre-reg before the line closed. We missed weapons check so we went on Friday.
Friday...So, we went to weapons check...Me and some others were waiting outside of the line because we didn't have weapons, but then our friend Mel (who was in weapons check with her 10 foot spear) got sick and almost passed out. They took her out of line and we stood around with her while the Con staff asked her questions, gave her some water, etc. They were nice enough to bring her to the front of the line so she could check her spear before going back to the hotel.
Our other friends drove her back to the hotel, and we walked back. On our way down the hill to the Crowne Plaza, her sister fell and skinned one of her knees and twisted her ankle. It was an eventful day.
So Mel changed into her Flareon costume because it wasn't as hot, and we went back to the Con. Someone recognized me as a Xweetok and came over to hug me! I was so happy! Sadly I didn't see them again on Saturday ):
Nominoichi was fairly good, but VERY crowded. I got some ponies! fdjghnfghj! And someone was selling Supernatural novels so I got those too~
The Friday night rave was the most amazing thing. I can't even explain. Just...dancing...letting go and just raving.
Saturday was good but it was tiring. We all got ready for Doll North in the morning, and when we got there there was a giant line in order to get in (that's never happened before). I went inside but I didn't buy much. So many things for smaller dolls.
After that was the Crossplay panel which was hilarious this year. Sadly we couldn't stay for the whole thing because Luke had to go to a video game photoshoot. But...then when we got to the photoshoot place, it didn't even exist ):
Lots of dealers room, etc. My costume was annoyingly uncomfortable lol. If I ever do it again, I think I'll just make some kind of wig instead of painting my hair back.
When we got back we got ourselves ready for the rave. But once we got there they told us cameras weren't allowed in :/ so we went to the outdoor rave. It wasn't as fun as Friday night because dancing on pavement really hurts your feet >_< plus everyone around us was smoking and there wasn't any free water. And...some guy caressed my back :////
But we still did have some fun!
After that Baguette fell asleep but Luke and my bro and I decided to take the elevator to every floor, just to see. Ours was one of the only ugly floors...most of them were blue themed with mahogany wood carved in elaborate shapes. Our floor and some others were gross beige with weird cabbage things on the carpet.
Sunday we were Pokemon and it was a lot of fun. While getting ready the butt of my yellow pants ripped out...we tried to silicone it but to no avail. At least it happened in the hotel room? It figures the bleach doesn't eat away at the pants until I actually need them :P But I wore my black pants and it was alright. We went to the Pokemon photoshoot and it was lots of fun! I dunno if my poses were any good ^^' but oh well!
We went to Cafe Nocturne and we got Pearce as our host :D He was really nice and a lot of fun! The teas were so delicious! And we got little sandwiches that were tasty as well :3 I gave him a frog at the end of the meal and he really liked it! He was wearing it tucked into the front of his vest :D
Then we had some time for Dealers Rooming, and Artist Alley. After we were all done in there, we got some icecream <3 and it was back to the hotel for us. We met up with our other friends to take photos of our costumes, then we got changed for dinner. Dinner was a lot of fun too! My brother was dipping chicken legs into the chocolate fountain they had....now I wish I had tried some!
We swam, then cleaned our room. After that we decided to go back to the con grounds and see the aftermath. Everything was so empty and sad D: even the convenience store was closed! We went back to the hotel but we didn't want to sleep, so we explored the hotel. We went up and down the staircase (the top floor was so scary...the higher we went the more I expected Pyramid Head to be behind us >_<). Then we went to the Ballroom level, and it was very pretty, even though we got all horrified that someone would find us. When we were done with that, we went back and played games on my bro's computer until we all got sickly tired and finally went to sleep. It was so sad going home ): AN is all over until another year.
In other news, I got a whooole bunch more ponies today and it is very exciting. I'm being sorta dorky and formulating a sort of storyline for my ponies in my mind.
At AN I got some G2 ponies and they are soooo pretty. I never thought I'd actually own one :) now I have three!
Then of course today I go to Value Village and buy around 30 ponies XD the lady at the cash register gave me such a look...
I'm not keeping all 30, mind you. Some were fakies, others I'm just not interested in. I've got what I think is a G3.5 Cherilee McDonalds toy? I don't really like G3.5. I also got a duplicate G3 McDonalds Daisyjo. I'm gonna try to sell my fakies/duplicates and the misc. toys that get packed in bags with them. In all I'm keeping 23 new ponies from today.
I styled all their hair and now I'm just waiting for it to dry.
