Anita Blake Sucks Ass

Mar 22, 2005 03:07

So, I hate the Anita Blake series. You probably already guessed that from my header, but what the hell. It bears repeating. In fact, until recently I had an "Anita Blake Sucks Ass" LJ icon, and would look at it lovingly from time to time, thoroughly enjoying my bitter mean-spirited iconage ( Read more... )

LOL! Okay, that woke me up.

I've only read one of these things, and I only liked one character, Edward, who slunk off into wedded bliss at the end which made me furious. You version is much better.

Ahhhh, Edward! You must have read "Obsidian Butterfly." Maybe. Where Edward the psychopathic nutjob who likes to kill things for pleasure gets married to an at-home mom and her two children. It was like The Twilight Zone. Most bizarre.

Or maybe you mean you read another parody? Hmm...

Yes! But he reminded me of Krycek, except for the fiance thing. Which I erase from my memory, see? "Poof".

(He was like Krycek, wasn't he? Only not nearly as cool!)

I shall now do the same. "Poof!" Ahhh, much better!

Lestat!! he's not another silly French poofy-shirt-wearing vampire. He's the ORIGINAL one. all other copycats should be shot dead on sight! if it's dead already, got it married to Anita Blake. from your excellent comments above, i gather she's a real woman of *character*, who certainly knows how to drive those silly french vampires into suicide!

hmmm, read the Da Vinic Code yet? i'm doing it now...

Tsk! I take umbrage, madame! ;) I said that Lestat was being robbed--clearly he is the original, and Anita Blake's love interest is copying him. Not that I like Lestat very much, anyway. Sigh. Okay, I promise not to lump Lestat as a silly French poofy-shirt-wearing vampire. Promise! It's just... so hard...!

Have you read any of Anne Rice's recent Vampire Chronicles, though? Wow. I could only get as far as Memnoch the Devil, and then I gave up in despair. I TRIED to read Blood Canticle for the entertainment value, but promptly gave up in despair.

Poor Lestat! Now he's robbing himself!

hmmm, read the Da Vinic Code yet? i'm doing it now...

Oooh, I have read the Da Vinci Code. It was a wild ride, but the stereotypes annoyed me excesively.

This is a very cranky post. I'll have to do better next time.

Hmmm, strange. I somehow cut-and-pasted myself without knowing it. That should only be ONE "gave up in despair." The next phrase was probably something like "threw the book against the wall in a fit if pique."

Great! Now I'm robbing myself!

i understand why you feel like that. really i do. even though i was and still am a big fans of Lestat's cute little ass, his persona (esp. the one being portrayedin the latest VC series) are really getting more and more stereotyped... sigh. poor babe, he can't help it you know...

I could only get as far as Memnoch the Devil, and then I gave up in despair.

me too!! after MtD, i quit reading the VC series! frankly i don't like Interview with the Vampire, i love Vampire Lestat and most part of the Tale of the Body Thief (where David and Lestat flirted!!) and i don't care about Queen of the Damned... and i hate MtD! Anne Rice is really writing trash nowadays! (pardon me all the AR fans out there.)

Oooh, I have read the Da Vinci Code. It was a wild ride, but the stereotypes annoyed me excesively. hmmm, do you mean the leading female character there? i don't like her: she's soooo strong and good and intelligent and all ( ... )
