Had a wonderful two days of NOT WORKING! YAY! at camp this weekend.  Was awesome.

Except that we saw Priest.  Ugh.  So terrible.  And it could have been a good movie!  Really!  The elements were there!  They just ... decided to be pedantic and unoriginal and hire wooden actors and flop the whole thing.  It could have been awesome like Equilibrium!  Only it so, so wasn't.

My mother-in-law is made of butterflies and chocolate cake and Good Things because she finished the craddle and it is absolutely gorgeous.  This is the craddle both my bother-in-laws and my husband and my newphew slept in for the first two months of their little tiny lives and I'm psyched to get to use it.  It got a complete make-over for us, painted in a dark brown to match our bedroom furniture and varnished so it shines.  Plus she hand-sewed a new cover for the mattress AND a mattress pad AND a gorgeous white bumper pad set with matching covers.

I'm going to sign up for a picture-hosting site soon, so I can show all this stuff off.  NO RLY.

My grandfather also dug out OUR family craddle, and though it apparently needs some love I can't wait to see it.

My nesting intincts are coming alive now - we got home from camp and cleaned the house.  Mmm, feels so good.  Saterday night I lay in bed, unable to sleep (because sleep is something my body is convinced I no longer need, until I try to wake up in the morning that is) and fretted about my bedroom.  The comforter set I have is from my mother-in-law from when we bought the house two years ago and its got red and gold and very pretty but never really completely fit.  Plus my curtains were purchased without much thought from Giant Tiger because I was working emerg shifts at that time and needed to close away all light.  They are this dark brown velvet and not particularly nice.

So my Birthday Gift to Me was a new comforter set and bedsheets!  We got them at Homesense yesterday and they are just goooorgeous.  Black and white and silver, our favourite colour combinations.  Goes really well with the dark wood too, better than I had hoped.  Our bedset has silver caps on the posts, so it looks really nice.

So now I get to buy new curtains too.  *super grin*  Mom and I will hit Fabricland sometime this week to get material to re-cover the glider rocking chair I got (FOR FIFTY BUCKS ON KIJIJI - BOO YA) and I'm going to look for lovely silver shiny curtains.

The other thing I want to do today is run down my cousin's mom's number and find out who it is here in town that makes $5 newborn cloth diapers.  The number she left me doesn't work, so I'm wondering if I copied it down wrong.

K - first thing first though: Work.  I'm doing 6 hour days for the next two days and then I'm done!  I think I'll go until then.  I'm not due until September 12th and even though baby is Officially (on average) Cooked at 37 weeks only 5% of women go before their due date.  Mind you, of the 95% who go after the vast majority go in the first 7 days.  So there's a good chance my baby will be born Sept 12th-19th.

That being said, I've already noticed changes.  They say your body starts preparing up to a month before you go into labour, and baby is definitely sitting lower in my pelvis than he/she was last week.  Sitting in a car is getting more and more uncomfortable and though I haven't started waddling yet, there have been times when I've come close.  My joints are also getting looser - I did a frog kick in the lake this weekend and nearly snapped my hips in half - the ligaments are looser but my muscles aren't!  They protested rather loudly that they hadn't been properly stretched for this!

I'm going to bow to tradition and start packing a hospital bag this week.  I'm going to bring my ipod and will see if Dad will lend me his dock, plus some books I'm sure I'm not going to read and maybe a few magazines like Discover or something.  Plus lots and lots of fluid and gatorade and snacks and things for Mom and Kyle.

The last thing I need to buy that I don't have yet is a breastfeeding bra.  The maternity store is frightfully expensive but I've been told Sears has good sales.  So I need to head there sometime this week and check those out.  Then it wouldn't hurt to have another comfy maternity pajama set to get changed into, plus I should pack some old undies and clothes to wear home.  The nice thing is that we can be home early because we have a midwife, but you never can know what's going to happen.  I know that better than most people.  So I'm going to plan as if I need an emergency section and end up spending two days in the hospital.  Ghah.

K - off to work.  Really.  Go mondays!  Lol.
