There's a lot of debate in Korea about changing the currrency so that stuff that you're talking about is lessened to some extent, since the Korean currency hasn't seen an update over the past few decades, and with inflation and what not, a lot of people in Korea end up carrying stacks of bills with them all the time. The main hitch is
a)A lot of economists argue that introducing a new bill will increase the rate of inflation.
b)Most people in Korea rely on Bank Money Orders when carrying larger denominations around, so it's not like there is absolutely no options...
I really love the taxis in Korea though. It was so cheap :)
