I was supposed to leave for Tokyo tomorrow. Having long been physically and mentally ready to leave, I was held up only by various bits of foul paperwork. The process is not that complicated, but it does take a fair amount of time. I received a letter today from my friend, the one I was telling you about, the weird fascist hooligan fighter, with a title that made me laugh like mad for five minutes. "Na bolt Japan, davai k nam v Rossiyu." Which means, "to hell with Japan, come to us, to Russia." What amused me so much was about it was that he used the English "Japan" instead of the Russian "Yaponia." Reading through the letter I can only extend the same advice to you.

I've wanted a pair of East German officer breeches for, like, two year now. Though I keep putting it off.

That's the thing with that East German army clothing, it never goes out of style. Or so you'd think, judging by the amount of it you see available in Japan.

Though I have my visa now, and I'll be leaving on Wednesday, so it's not so bad.
