Knighton.

I realized the other day that I had the wrong mental layout of Knighton Hall, which led to a conversation with shinysparks on Twitter about it... and then, led to me really studying the layout and discussing it with her. Since I think I've pretty much got what there is to be gotten about it, lol, I thought I'd share:

The buildings are laid out as closely as I could get to what we see in the show. Most of the spaces are unaccounted-for, so I've made some guesses; you can tell how confident I am with them based on the number of question marks following them, lol. Shinysparks has made the excellent suggestions that the storage area by the tower might be a summer oven, and that the tower could be a guard station, for archers. Relatedly, I thought that the outbuildings in front of the hall (where the sheriff's two spies are seen in 1x01 and 1x02) could be defunct guard stations; they seem unoccupied and not part of a village, and stand by one approach to the house.

Speaking of that, here are the screenshots I've taken to determine this layout (some of these might seem goofy-- I wasn't looking at the people, I was looking at the background):

(when watching a scene of Knighton pan, it seems to me that the upper part of the tower is not, in fact, connected to the house-- though I could be mistaken)

Storage area/oven/stone archway in front of tower

Seating area around the hearth:

(when Much visits in 1x02, they pull a third chair up-- I believe it's one of the dining chairs)

Rear window (to the right of the hearth-- the edge of which is visible at the left of the photo)

Side corridor

Maid/cook leaving with dishes toward the side door

(this is what leads me to place the kitchen out that way)

Side door open, cottage visible in near-distance

Unlabeled: the wood visible through the stairs is not a wall-- it's a second door outside.

Upstairs:

Marian's closet:

(looks more like a dressing room to me, actually, but there's no wardrobe in her room... maybe there's one off to the side here? Pure supposition, that, but it'd make sense)

One view from Marian's front window, by the stable loft-- note lack of village buildings

CORRECTION: I'd mislabeled this and saved over the screencap. She's not coming directly from the house, she's coming from toward the back of the house/stables.
