maybe we will find out if something silly happened like Peter remembering that he can fly just like Nathan, so Nathan doesn't have to hold him while he is going esploding.
I suspect Peter was a bit distracted with trying not to explode to manage flying. I don't blame him much.
But that said, why the hell didn't they just knock him out? At least as I am informed by the internet, every time he had previously nearly gone nuclear, unconsciousness solved it: no boom. This being true of both Peter and the guy he absorbed the power from.
Also, I sure hope they hit space. Because otherwise, yeah, lets get you up high so we can get maximum distribution of the nuclear fallout across the city.
Actually, it is not likely there would much in the way of fallout. Most of fallout come from two sources, the first being the unfissioned material from the weapon (which from what we have seen would not be much, as he only seems to be radioactive when the power is active), and the second from material made radioactive from the blast - and most gaseous materials are not going to absorb much, and there will not be much particulate matter that high up (which is why ground bursts cause so much more fallout than air bursts)
