Today's new added backyard feature: dead baby opossum.

Ew. Sometimes nature is just gross.

eta: Argh, having read wikipedia entry about "playing possum", now I'm worried it wasn't really dead. Will spend rest of day in fear of trash can.

as long as you didn't seal it in a plastic bag or something, if it was playing, odds are that it will be gone by the time you get home.

Unless it was really young, in which case it probably was dead, or not going to make it unless there was a parent around.

You may ask why I comment? We managed to have several variants of opossum, young and old, most alive, in my back yard and shed growing up.

The "dead" variant was pretty awful, and I will save you the details unless you really want them.
