Stop once in a while and take notice

I’ve never really slowed down enough to really pay attention to raspberries. Yes, I know they’re good, but I thought of myself as more of a strawberry kind of girl. Yesterday though, pints of them beckoned from the last farmer’s market of the season. They looked far better then the various apple varieties that the sparse table held ( Read more... )

I liked this entry.

We have raspberry bushes growing in our backyard, one of my most favorite things to do in the late summer is to go out at sunset and pick a cupful after dinner, they are plump and warmed from the sun. I rinse them off under our spigot and eat them on our back deck whilte watching the sunset.

Sun-ripened raspberries and sunsets. What a wonderful gift.

I'm glad you liked the post. I actually felt a little strange putting something like that out there. You definitely made me feel better about going out on a limb and posting it :).

Yes, it is really good to slow down. We live in a madly rushing world and all these little moments of beauty just pass us by.

Plums and watermelon. My favorite, and what I've been eating voraciously this week. I ate two whole containers of watermelon. Yes, I'm lazy and so I buy the watermelon that is already cut up and de-seeded. I love the feel of cold watermelon on my tongue. The sweetness...out of this world.

Plums. Yum. I love how they are sweet and sour at the same time. Just like me. haha!

Oh RAIN! I am SOOOOO jealous that you are going to Europe! I want to go with you someday on a trip! Let's plan that, ok?!!!

Come over here and we'll go up to Door County - one of my most favorite places! We can shoot photos, gab, eat and paint!!!

Ooooo...PLUMS!!! Another fruit that is just lusciously yumyumyum.

mmmraspberries.
We used to take them off the bushes that was growing wild around my house in Ireland.
As the mellow celtic sun sank into the distance, and our mouths were covered and stained with raspberry red.

mmmm....

I wish I had a raspberry bush by my house! :D

Although I'm pretty sure the bunnies would get to them pretty quickly (the lower ones anyway).

The raspberries were so divine, I was wishing that I have picked up more than just a single container.
