Because it soothes me...

I went to the yarn store and bought yarn. I haven't done that in a while. But, there is an upcoming LONG plane trip. Therefore, I thought I should bring things to amuse me.

This in particular caught my eye:

I LOVE that sweater! You would look adorable in it! I wish I were as talented as you.

Adorable IF I lose between five and fifteen pounds :P. Ugh. I can't stand what my middle is doing. I am trying to really control what I put in my mouth today.

So far, so good. We'll see about dinner.

Glad you think the sweater is cute ;).

Ha! I'm always a bit shocked when I find another fellow knitter/crocheter. Although I'm so bad that I shouldn't really call myself a knitter. I can't do anything that involves patterns or making things that aren't straight and rectacngular.

I *used* to be more of a knitter. Now I've branched out into so many other things. But, like you, I prefer things that are straight and rectangular. I have made SO many scarves for me, for my friends and I still love making scarves.

Hey...I just noticed this today - we have the same birthday! :)

Before I even get to this sweater, I'm making a scarf using the same yarn to get a feel for how it knits up.

Didn't realize you were a "sometime knitter" too ;).

I honestly have to learn to knit.I have been knitting scarves since i was about 10..everyone says that if i can do that i can learn to knit something like a sweater.I look at those patterns and get intimidated:(
The sweater you picked will be lovely!

Oh, don't be intimidated! Just go slowly, follow the pattern and read up on what techniques you will need. That's what I did :). I'm still a beginner...but I like to try new things.

Let's hope this sweater will actually see completion. I am so bad at finishing knitted things (unless it's a scarf).

Beautful jacket. I think Bonne Marie made one like that. There must be tons of stitches in those ruffles. Have fun!

Tons of stitches in the ruffles? Uh-oh. I'm going to try not to think about that ;).

That's going to be very pretty in those colors. Are you sure Mike is straight? :)

I'm a knitter, too. See, I knew I liked you for good reason!

A word of caution...check with your airline before you travel to make sure if they allow knitting needles. Some do, some don't, some only allow certain kinds (wooden or plastic).

I am really crossing my fingers and hoping that my bamboo needles will be okay. I have bamboo circulars to take with me.

Oh, and no...I am not quite sure about Mike, but that doesn't stop me from admiring good old boy-next-door looks ;). I am more impressed at the fact that he has good color sense.
