Nothing like getting away from it all, sounds like it was a hoot. What is letterboxing by the way?

Letterboxing is hiking around with a compass and a set of clues trying to find a little box with a stamp. Really, it's a lot of fun! http://www.letterboxing.org. Maybe they have some in Oz too!

Sounds similiar to orienteering, which I did during my Academy days. Another thing I'd like to get back into but time, oh time that great enemy.

We've been orienteering this year. I do love doing that. Our last one was neat - we had the use of a canoe! That changed things a bit. I actually belatedly noticed that the terrain didn't match because what I thought was "water" was actually "marsh" upon closer inspection of the map.

Silly me :) After I corrected that error, we were on our way again.
