I'm so sorry your parents have said things like this :( It really sucks when parents are like that :(

My parents do stupid things too. Like yours, they mean well, but sometimes *shakes head*.
I go to their house every Sunday for dinner. When they do something that hurts my feelings, I tend not to go the next week. Not sure if it makes them change their behavior, but it makes me feel better.
