I will keep this Short. Once again I am reminded why, People of our knowledge dont often contact tech support. My keyboard went out. Of course i tried another no avail. Knowing there was a 99 percent chance it was the mainboard since i could reboot and not enter setup i Chatted with online technical Support for HP/Compaq. Our conversation is as ( Read more... )

I love that last line!

I fucking hate talking to tech support, especially via email or chat. They don't seem to pay any attention to what you type and they are so dead set in using auto-text responses it pisses me off. Add to that their useage of scripts since they really don't know what they are doing most of the time.

I also don't miss working in tech support.

Suprisingly i do miss working in TS. It was so hard to stay level headed and patient so i wouldnt anger him like people used to do to us. *shrug* looks like ill be putting together a new machine.

Yeah, i tried doing that. But the chat doesnt show the timestamps. Between all of his " checking of resources" the chat spanned from 1130 - 1 am. I was tired, pregnant, cranky, and since im pregnant, off my meds.

i think did fairly well. LOL

That was an outsourcer. More than likely that was a Teletech rep operating out of Mannila, Phillapies. Those guys are awful.

The company I work for makes the chat software that they use for support, so I'm pretty used to dealing with those people.

Yeah, I kind of figured. You would think that they would be held to the same standards that we were somehow. I dont know, maybe they are and i just got a bad one but it seems that each time i call support i get the same thing.
