It's a slow day at the office. I've spent a lot of my morning looking up lists of cruelty-free companies, and I'm horrified by what I learned.
Nearly EVERY mainstream item in your local grocery store came from these companies:
Unilever
GlaxoSmithKline
SC Johnson
Johnson & Johnson

Of course, there are other large companies, but these are the biggest.

Just wanted to chime in to say that I think Whole Foods is a capitalist regime, just disguised a little better. Or maybe they're worse because they perpetuate the idea that only the rich can afford to be healthy.

Where do you live? Maybe check out a Trader Joe's. There you get organic or at least not-crap food for the same price as regular food at Publix or whatever. There's one in Roswell and I think one in Perimeter and MidTown.

I agree with you about Whole Foods, but figure that at least they carry okay products. Trader Joe's is even further away from me, but I get out there from time to time :-)
